JATINANGOR – Faculty of Communication Science seeks to develop cooperation in a sustainable field of education, research and scientific publications with Asian Network for Public Opinion Research (ANPOR). Following up the cooperation effort, on January 7-9, 2018 delegates of ANPOR visitedFikom Unpad, which includes Professor of Communication Studies from University of Daejeon Republic of Korea, Prof. Sung Kyum Cho, and Asc. Professor Jantima Kheokao also Dr. Dhanaraj Kheokao from Thai Chambers University of Thailand. Prof. Sung Kyum Cho is a Professor of Communications and Statistics at University of Daejeon and the Former First President of ANPOR, while Asc. Professor Jantima Kheokao is the Faculty Member School of Communication Arts of Thai Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Second President of Asian Network for Public Opinion Research (ANPOR).
The presence of these three people was to build an agreement between the Faculty of Communication Science (Fikom) Unpad with Asian Network for Public Opinion Research (ANPOR), based in Korea, to hold the 6th Annual Conference 2018 in Bandung. In the discussion, Fikom Unpad was represented by the Dean. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, SH., MH., Vice Dean. Dadang Sugiana, M.Si., Head of Doctoral Program Dr. Atwar Bajari, M.Si., Secretary of Doctoral Program Dr. Ninis Agustini Damayani, M.Lib., and Manager of Research and Cooperation Mrs. Trie Damayanti, S.Sos., M.Psi.
Both parties agreed to plan and organize the 6th ANPOR Annual Conference 2018 in Bandung where Fikom Unpad operates as the host of the event. In addition to the conference talks, discussions on future opportunities of joint researches and visiting professors between the three universities in the coming year were also discussed.
Prof. Sung Kyum Cho, accompanied by Asc. Professor Jantima Kheokao also provided a general lecture to the students of Doctoral Program of Communication Science which lasted for two hours in the office of postgraduate program of Fikom Unpad at the end of the visit. The topic of the lecture is related to public opinion research that discusses in detail the shifts and changes in public opinion research. For example, the utilisation of big data, the perspective of public opinion research, the field of research, and preparation of the proposals to capture international grants has been presented Prof. Cho to the students. During the discussion session, doctoral students commented on the topic, and also consulted about their ongoing research project. (Atwar Bajari)
