On this basis, Ira Mirawati together with several lecturers of the Communication Management Study Program, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University initiated to establish a free, website-based online consultation service for Indonesian youth at the end of 2016 called your<\/strong> friend.<\/p>\n

Your friend accepts complaints or expressions of adolescent problems and provides responses and alternative solutions using a communication approach. If there are problems that cannot be solved by just a communication approach, then your friend will connect teenagers with parties who can indeed provide solutions or parties who are authorized to handle them, such as psychologists or psychiatrists. Thus, the youth will know what steps they can take or who is the most appropriate party to overcome their problems.<\/p>\n

“Even though they can’t give clinical recommendations, at least they have a place to tell stories instead of venting on social media but instead they get unwanted reactions,” said Ira Mirawati as the founder and Managing Director of your friend.<\/p>\n

Even though it has been established since 2015, the continuity of your friend was stopped due to the busy schedule of your friend’s consultants consisting of the Unpad Fikom lecturer team and the Unpad Fikom TPBK team. Then since 2019, Sahabatmu.com has been active again with a new team, consisting of an email consultant team, an Instagram consultant team, and a social media team. These three teams consist of trained lecturers and students who will be happy to be a place for teenagers to pour their complaints. They will position themselves as friends for teenagers and try to provide alternative solutions for the problems experienced by teenagers.<\/p>\n

Before the pandemic occurred, Ira and the team routinely held socialization of your friend’s services by holding roadshows to various schools and campuses. However, since the pandemic hit, socialization activities had to stop. Ira also thought of finding other socialization alternatives so that this platform could still reach a wider audience. On the recommendation of her students, Ira was asked to create a TikTok account.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, at first I was hesitant to play TikTok too, because it seemed like the world of teenagers. I’m far from being a teenager,” he joked.<\/p>\n

However, he got rid of the slanted assumption about the TikTok application. He considered that TikTok would have more benefits, especially for spreading a variety of<\/a> educational<\/a> and positive content<\/a> . Therefore, Ira Mirawati started creating a TikTok account at the end of June 2020. This has brought the woman from Bandung to become one of the nominees for the TikTok Awards Indonesia 2020 for the “Best of Learning and Education” category.<\/p>\n

Through various types of digital media, Ira Mirawati and her team of friends continue to try to educate teenagers that there is nothing wrong with telling stories, no matter how small or trivial the problem is. This is a step for your friend to cultivate the habit of teenagers to tell the things that they think and feel.<\/p>\n

“We are trying to promote<\/em> it on various social media, if you want to vent, you don’t<\/em> have to have a problem. It’s okay to just tell stories about everyday life or experiences,\u201d said the woman who is now also known as Ira ‘ TikTok<\/em> ‘.<\/p>\n

With the vision of realizing Indonesia’s young generation who are able to overcome their problems, are tough, and optimistic, your friend strives to be a place that can be trusted by teenagers in expressing the problems they face by providing free online consultation services that can be accessed from anywhere and anytime. This online consultation service is not limited in time, so teenagers can consult every day. Later, your friend will respond to every incoming complaint a maximum of 1×24 hours.<\/p>\n

Now Ira and the team are developing your friend in the form of an application, so that it is hoped that it can reach and gather teenagers throughout Indonesia to be able to better tell their problems and avoid the risk of teenagers who want to end their lives.<\/p>\n

“The application is being developed based on Android, so it is hoped that it will be well organized. It is hoped that the application can be used starting next May, yes, and in the future, we can cooperate more with institutions that finance so that we can add teams and consultants,” Ira hoped.<\/p>\n
