Jatinangor, July 10, 2025 \u2014 Students from the Library and Information Science Program, Faculty of Communication Sciences, University of Padjadjaran, once again achieved a remarkable feat at the prestigious Liblicious 2025 competition, one of the events in the Epicentrum Fikom Unpad series. The team named NARgotika, consisting of three 2022 graduates\u2014Muhammad Nabiel Farabi, Andini Zahra Susanto, and Naufal Ripqi Robbani\u2014successfully secured first place with their innovative program titled \u201cLingkar Maggot Berdaya.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the theme \u201cEmpowering Marginalized Communities through Environmental Literacy to Address Lack of Access to Basic Resources,\u201d the NARgotika team presents a multidisciplinary approach that integrates environmental literacy, community empowerment, and circular economy through maggot (Black Soldier Fly larvae) cultivation in Indramayu Regency.<\/p>\n

The \u201cLingkar Maggot Berdaya\u201d proposal highlights the complexity of poverty and the crisis of organic waste management in rural areas that are often marginalized. Based on Hungerford’s four-level environmental literacy model, this program collaborates with information institutions such as local libraries and community reading parks (TBM), as well as local environmental communities to promote participatory education and concrete solutions based on local wisdom.<\/p>\n

Not only does the program focus on education, it also offers practical and sustainable solutions: converting household organic waste into livestock feed and organic fertilizer with economic value. On a small scale, this activity has the potential to generate more than Rp4 million per month in income for the beneficiary community.<\/p>\n

Naufal Ripqi Robbani selaku ketua tim menyampaikan rasa syukurnya atas kemenangan ini, \u201cKami tidak menyangka bahwa gagasan yang berangkat dari keresahan terhadap ketimpangan ekologi dan ekonomi di kampung-kampung marginal bisa diapresiasi sebesar ini. Kami percaya, melalui literasi dan aksi lokal, perubahan besar dapat dimulai dari hal kecil.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The victory of the NARgotika team not only proves the academic capacity of students in the Library and Information Science Study Program in producing information-based social innovations, but also strengthens the strategic role of information institutions in bridging the community with transformative knowledge.<\/p>\n

With a spirit of collaboration, sustainability, and ecological awareness, Lingkar Maggot Berdaya is a concrete step taken by Unpad students to provide smart solutions for marginalized communities\u2014turning waste into a blessing and information into power. (NRR)<\/p>\n
