Azizul Rahman, a lecturer from the Communication Science Study Program at Universitas Padjadjaran\u2019s Pangandaran campus (PSDKU Unpad), served as a speaker in a <\/span>Social Research and Professional Enumerator Training<\/span><\/i> program held at the Learning Center of the Yayasan Inisiasi Alam Rehabilitasi Indonesia (YIARI) in Katapang, Kalimantan, from 27 to 29 July 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program was a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, and YIARI, aimed at strengthening participants\u2019 understanding of social research methodologies and equipping them with practical skills as field enumerators.<\/span><\/p>\n

YIARI is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to wildlife conservation and habitat preservation, focusing on the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of species such as orangutans and other endemic wildlife of Kalimantan. Through research, education, and community empowerment programs, YIARI is committed to safeguarding Indonesia\u2019s biodiversity for future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the three-day training, Azizul Rahman delivered sessions covering the fundamentals and objectives of social research, designing research instruments, and techniques for collecting valid and reliable data. The program also included practical exercises such as interview simulations, field observation training, and professional ethics for enumerators, ensuring that participants were well-prepared to conduct high-quality fieldwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA skilled enumerator is not only proficient in data collection techniques but also understands the social context and maintains the integrity of the information gathered. That is the core message we emphasize in this training,\u201d said Azizul Rahman.<\/span><\/p>\n

This collaboration is expected to make a positive contribution to social research efforts, particularly in supporting YIARI\u2019s conservation and rehabilitation programs. With strong research skills, trained enumerators can produce high-quality data to inform evidence-based policy-making. a.r<\/span><\/p>\n
