Adiva’s interest in public speaking began to grow in junior high school. However, she only really developed it in high school. At that time, she realized that the science major she had chosen did not suit her interests and talents. Therefore, she began to explore competitions that matched her passion. From there, she became increasingly interested in participating in national competitions in the field of public speaking.<\/p>\n
Experience Participating in the PRAction UI 2025 Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n The valuable experience of participating in PRAction UI 2025 began with the preliminary round. At this stage, 137 participants from various universities were asked to submit a video speech on YouTube. Despite initially feeling lacking in confidence and resignedly waiting for the results, she eventually made it to the final round. Adiva used this opportunity to refine and perfect her speech. She also gained valuable experience competing directly at the prestigious UI campus. This was her first competition there.<\/p>\n In this competition, Adiva chose the theme \u201cStop Overtourism, Start Sustainable Ecotourism!<\/strong>\u201d as the main message of her speech. She believes that the younger generation, especially Gen Z, needs to be more aware of the phenomenon of excessive tourism that damages the environment, while promoting sustainable tourism for a greener and more sustainable future.<\/p>\n Challenges and Strategies for Facing Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n The biggest challenge for Adiva was adjusting the length of her speech so that it wasn’t too long, as well as competing with other finalists who were already very experienced. She overcame this by practicing intensively, praying, and continuing to believe in herself and her own style and characteristics. According to her, the purpose of participating in the competition was not solely to win, but to gain experience and continue to develop herself.<\/p>\n In dividing her time between lectures and competition preparation, Adiva scheduled coaching sessions with her supervisor from the outset. She aimed to finish her paper well before the deadline, and during lectures she focused on completing her assignments with clear priorities so as not to become overwhelmed. She believes that time is very precious and must be used to the fullest.<\/p>\n Valuable Experiences from High School<\/strong><\/p>\n Participating in various competitions since high school, such as the Wonderkind Festival, Walisongo Language Festival, and Arab Fest, has greatly contributed to shaping Adiva’s confident and communicative stage presence today. However, one of the most memorable experiences for Adiva was winning the 1st Runner-Up title and making it into the top 10 nationally in the 2023 Young Moderators of Religious Diversity competition.<\/p>\n Out of 34 finalists from various regions in Indonesia, Adiva was selected as one of the Young Ambassadors for Religious Moderation. The challenge in this event was very memorable, as Adiva had to organize an offline event involving participants from six different religions in Jakarta.<\/p>\n Being part of the top 10 was a valuable experience for Adiva. From there, she learned how to embrace differences, lead interfaith activities, and strengthen social awareness, all of which were important parts of her growth process.<\/p>\n Adiva becomes the Young Initiator of Religious Moderation 2023<\/p>\n Realizing Dreams Through Process<\/strong><\/p>\n Through every competition and experience she has gone through, Adiva has proven that success is not just about the podium, but about the courage to try, learn, and grow.<\/p>\n With the spirit to keep moving forward and be open to new challenges, Adiva hopes that her experience can serve as a reminder that every effort, no matter how small, has meaning in the journey toward becoming the best version of ourselves.
