Fikom Unpad received a visit from Prof. Nik Norma Universiti Sains Malaysia
The Faculty of Communication received a visit from Prof. Nik Norma Nik Hasan from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This visit lasted for five days from October 2, 2022 to October 7, 2022. The series of activities began with a lecture on communication research methodology with the theme “Trends in Communication Research at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)”. The lecture was attended by Postgraduate students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University.
The next agenda of the visit was a discussion in order to renew the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Fikom Unpad and USM Malaysia. Some priority programs that will be launched soon include joint supervision, double degree, adjunct professor, summer program and student exchange. The leadership of Fikom Unpad also attended the discussion.
Another activity was a discussion with the Head of the Study Center within Fikom Unpad, namely the Head of Environmental Communication, the Head of Health Communication, and the Head of Communication, Media & Culture and Information Systems. The topic of discussion this time was collaboration strategies in penetrating international grants. On this occasion, researchers from study centers in Fikom Unpad were also present.
Fikom Unpad lecturers from the Journalism Study Program who have completed their doctoral studies are Dr. Efi Fadilah. Dr. Efi Fadilah’s success is one of the results of international collaboration between Fikom Unpad and Communication Studies USM Malaysia with the RDDU grant scheme. Prof. Nik Norma Nik Hasan has been a co-promoter/co-supervisor for the success of Fikom Unpad’s RDDU Program.
Prof. Nik Norma shared her impression about her visit this time, “Experience is so valuable” Prof. Atwar Bajari and team together supervised PhD student, Efi Fadilah, for several years until graduating viva. This is an agreed MOA cooperation he said. Prof. Nik Norma’s visit was closed with a dinner event filled with talks related to follow-up discussions during her visit to Fikom Unpad. (KUI)
