New Academic Year, Fikom Unpad held Open House 2024
At the beginning of the new academic year 2024/2025, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran held an Open House event on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Fikom Unpad Dome, which was attended by faculty leaders and parents of students who were divided into two sessions starting at 09.00 – 16.00 WIB. This event aims to establish a relationship between faculty leaders and parents of students, increase insight and awareness of parents in general regarding education, as well as at the same time to equalize information regarding academic / non-academic activities in higher education so as to achieve success for sons / daughters who will receive Fikom Unpad education.
This Open House, many things were conveyed by the faculty leaders in this forum so that the parents of new 2024 students together with the campus could supervise each other as part of a support system that was built to be able to achieve the implementation of quality higher education in the era of transition in health and digital technology.
This Open House activity began with an opening and continued with a presentation from the Dean and Deputy Dean who were accompanied by the Chairperson of the Academic Senate, Heads of Study Programs, Heads of Departments, and Managers within Fikom Unpad by displaying power point slides and videos about Fikom Unpad’s profile.
In his remarks, Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, S.Sos., SH., M.Si as Dean of Fikom Unpad congratulated the parents of students for their trust in choosing study programs at Fikom Unpad with an average tightness level of 1: 25, then introduced faculty leaders, campus facilities, curriculum and learning mechanisms, achievements and other matters related to academic and non-academic programs.
He said, Fikom Unpad as the only Faculty in a state university with PTNBH status, Fikom Unpad has now reached the age of 64 and has achieved various proud achievements, one of which is that all study programs get accreditation A or “Excellent” from the National Accreditation Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), superior accreditation for Masters programs and get international accreditation “AQAS” for 7 study programs. Then he explained the MBKM curriculum and further study of postgraduate and doctoral programs(fast track).
Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, Research and Alumni, Prof. Atwar Bajari, M. Si explained about parental assistance in college success and about the flow of new students in obtaining academic services that must be registered in the Unpad Student Portal Account. While Dr. Jenny Ratna Suminar, M.Si as Vice Dean conveyed related facilities and infrastructure as well as about the single tuition program (UKT), endowment funds to help students who are hampered in financial problems and donations for the construction of mosques on campus.
This Open house activity succeeded in inviting approximately 184 of the total 671 new 2024 students as participants and was part of a series of New Student Admission activities for the 2024/2025 Academic Year at Fikom Unpad with the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. Dedi Erlandia Rumawan. The event continued with a discussion which began with a question and answer session and ended with a group photo. (DM)
