
Ignite the Spirit of Sportsmanship at the 65th Anniversary of Fikom Unpad
The Faculty of Communication Sciences at Padjadjaran University (Fikom Unpad) is holding a sports competition as part of the 65th anniversary celebrations of Fikom Unpad.
The competition is held in several stages. The table tennis event will take place from August 25–29, 2025, from 1:00 PM until completion, at the Fikom Unpad Graduate School Building Courtyard. Next, the badminton event will be held from September 1–4, 2025, from 1:00 PM WIB until completion, at the Badminton Hall of the Student Center Building. This competition is open to faculty members and educational staff.

In addition, there will be an exhibition/friendly volleyball and basketball match participated by lecturers, staff, and students on Friday, September 12, 2025. All of these activities aim to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Fikom Unpad and strengthen the relationship between the academic community.

Sports Competition Coordinator Samingin explained that there are two sports being contested, namely table tennis and badminton. The available categories include men’s singles, men’s doubles, and women’s singles.
He detailed the schedule as follows. The table tennis preliminary round will begin on Monday, August 25, 2025, followed by the semifinals and finals on Thursday–Friday, August 28–29, 2025. Meanwhile, the badminton preliminary round will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, with the semifinals and finals to determine the winners on Tuesday–Wednesday, September 2–3, 2025.

According to him, the number of participants this year increased compared to the previous year. “Hopefully, the next sports competition can be participated in by more participants, both lecturers and staff,” said Samingin.
This sports competition reflects the hope that Fikom Unpad will not only excel in academic aspects, but also have physically healthy citizens through sports. Of course, this is an important asset to continue advancing Fikom Unpad in the future. (DM/TAH)
