Fikom Unpad and Karya Studi Kedumentasian Indonesia (KSKI) organized the Documentation Scientific Talk series #1 “Local Wisdom Documents for Disaster Mitigation Literacy”.
Welcoming the 63rd Anniversary, the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Padjadjaran University in collaboration with the Indonesian Documentation Study Work (KSKI) organized a scientific talk on documentation series #1 with the theme “Local Wisdom Documents for Disaster Mitigation Literacy”. The activity was held at the Postgraduate Auditorium of Fikom Unpad Jatinangor and was also broadcast live through the Fikom Unpad Official YouTube channel, on Friday, September 8, 2023.
The scientific talk on documentation series #1 presented two speakers, Prof. Dr. Ninis Agustini Damayani, M.Lib. professor of Fikom Unpad and Blasius Sudarsono, MLS. founder of KSKI. The scientific talk was moderated by Dr. Agus Rusmana, M.A., who is a lecturer in the PSI study program at Fikom Unpad. The scientific talk on documentation series #1 was opened by the Vice Dean for Learning, Student Affairs, and Research of Fikom Unpad, Prof. Dr. Atwar Bajari, Drs., M.Si. and continued by the Chairperson of KSKI, Rahmi, S.Hum., M.Sc., Ph.D.
In the first session, Prof. Ninis as the first speaker explained the results of her research on “Local Wisdom as a Disaster Mitigation Literacy Document: Case Study in Pangandaran Regency”. He conveyed the findings of his research, that local wisdom documents in the form of poetry, badud art traditions, and hajat laut traditions in Pangandaran district are conveying ideas, ideas, expressions of human feelings and thoughts (ancestors) to their communities to achieve a common meaning of religious values, cultural values, and disaster mitigation efforts.
The second session was followed by a presentation from Mr. Blasius on “Interpreting Documents”. He discussed the process of learning documentation, from the early history of documentation in Indonesia to the dissemination of New Documentation Science (IBD), which is based on Document Theory. He also said that documentation is the center of study.
After the two speakers presented the material, the participants who were present in the room were given the opportunity to ask the speakers. Before entering the last session, there was a handover in the form of a miniature of the work of Fikom Unpad students who won PIMNAS by the Deputy Dean of Fikom Unpad, Prof. Atwar to Mr. Blasius, and the handover of souvenirs from KSKI. When handing over souvenirs, Mr. Blasius conveyed a message to the Vice Dean of Fikom Unpad, that he hoped for the formation of a New Documentation Science Consortium at Fikom Unpad.
The last session, namely the presentation of certificates given by the Chairperson of the 63rd Anniversary of Fikom Unpad, namely Dr. Uud Wahyudin, M.Si. and by the Chairperson of KSKI, Mrs. Rahmi, to the speakers and moderators. The scientific talk on documentation series #1 was closed with a group photo. (RZ)
