
“Implementation of Health Communication in Medical Practice” Public Lecture of Communication Science Study Program with Dr. Maximus Mujur, Sp.OG
Communication Science Study Program of Fikom Unpad held an offline public lecture with the theme “Implementation of Communication in Health Practice” on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Auditorium of Fikom Unpad Postgraduate Building. This public lecture was presented by Dr. Maximus Mujur, Sp.OG and moderated by Dr. Jenny Ratna Suminar, M.Si. and attended by students of the Communication Studies Program.
Dr. Maximus Mujur, Sp.OG presented material on how the duties of medical personnel, Obgyn duties, parent and fetal communication, the role of doctors / midwives in pregnancy, and preparation for parenthood. “Medical personnel in general play a role in maintaining the health and safety of patients, treating diseases, and providing health education to the community,” he said. He then explained that Obgyn’s duties are divided into two, namely Obgyn’s duties in obstetrics and gynecological diseases.
Next, Dr. Maximus explained about parent-fetal communication and doctor/midwife communication in pregnancy. Where, parent and fetus communication can be done in various ways, such as greeting the fetus with a soft voice and massaging the abdomen. Meanwhile, communication between doctors/midwives and parents can be done by providing information and support to parents during pregnancy until delivery and postpartum. Communication between the doctor/midwife and the fetus can be done through ultrasound to see the condition of the fetus.
At the end of the lecture, he gave a quote “Respect yourself, humans are creatures of joy, creatures full of smiles, so smile to live happily, and never leave istigfar if you want to be shown a straight path”.
