
Series of Activities by Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller as Adjunct Professor at Fikom Unpad
Jatinangor, June 17, 2025 – The Faculty of Communication Sciences at Padjadjaran University is hosting a series of international academic activities with Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller from Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) München, Germany. The presence of Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller as an Adjunct Professor is part of Fikom Unpad’s internationalization initiative to broaden the academic community’s horizons in a global and intercultural context.

Figure 1. Studium Generale will be held on June 5, 2025.
The first agenda began on June 5, 2025, with a public lecture entitled Studium Generale: Contemporary Communication & Qualitative Research. This event, open to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, will be held in the Postgraduate Lecture Hall at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Unpad. During this session, Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller will discuss the development of qualitative research methods and the challenges of contemporary communication in the era of globalization.

Furthermore, on June 10, 2025, Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller participated in a discussion with Fikom Unpad lecturers through the Discuss With Lecturers & Academic Meeting activity which took place in the Oemi Abdurrachman Room. This meeting became a strategic forum to explore cross-institutional research collaboration and curriculum development based on an intercultural approach with the discussion topic Trend of Communication Ethnography Research.

Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller also served as a guest lecturer in the Strategic Communication Issues class for doctoral students. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Eni Maryani, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Susanne Dida, M.M., and discussed in depth the topic of communication strategy in the context of global social, cultural, and political change.

International activities continued on June 16, 2025, in an international forum titled International Communication Association (ICA) Sharing Session. With the theme Disrupting and Consolidating Communication Research, Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller delivered a presentation titled Shaping Communication Research: Intercultural Communication and Global Collaboration, which highlighted the importance of cross-cultural cooperation in the development of communication science.

On June 23, 2025, he returned to teach the Intercultural Communication in Multinational Companies class for Master of Communication Science students. This class discusses the dynamics of communication in a multinational business environment that requires cultural sensitivity and managerial skills in a global context.

As part of faculty capacity building, on June 24, 2025, Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller will deliver a presentation titled “Sharing Best Practices: How to Teach Intercultural Communication.” The event will be attended by faculty members teaching the Intercultural Communication course and will be held in the Dean’s Plenary Room on the 2nd floor of the Fikom Unpad building.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller will also serve as a judge in the Cultural Festival themed Tapestry of Peace: Weaving Cultures, Fostering Unity. This event features cultural performances by undergraduate students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Padjadjaran University, and serves as a forum for multicultural expression that promotes the values of peace and cross-cultural unity.
This series of activities is a concrete manifestation of Fikom Unpad’s commitment to strengthening its global network and integrating international perspectives into teaching and research in the field of communication. The presence of Prof. Dr. Alois Moosmueller enriches the academic experience of students and lecturers, and opens up opportunities for ongoing collaboration between Unpad and partner institutions at the global level.
