Azqi Az Zahra: Once an Ordinary Fan, Now an Important Part of Idols’ Careers

Fikom Unpad is not only a place for outstanding students in both academic and non-academic fields. Fikom Unpad is certainly also a place for students who are passionate about developing their abilities, such as Azqi Az Zahra Kairun Nissa. The woman who is often called Azqi is one of the many students of the Media Production Management (MPM) study program at Fikom Unpad who has made extraordinary achievements in her life through the world of video editing. His passion for video editing has emerged since his junior high school days in Bandung. Since then, Azqi has loved tinkering with video editing applications and exploring various editing techniques found in the movies or videos he has seen. Not only in the field of video editing, Azqi also has an interest in creating and planning social media content which makes him have strong aspirations to become a content creator.

His interest in the world of video editing and content development also led him to choose the Media Production Management study program as his place to seek knowledge. With a strong determination towards what he loves, Azqi believes that his choice to study in the study program is the right decision and in accordance with his future career plans. During his education at Fikom Unpad, Azqi is a person who is not only active in academic activities. He is also active in various activities outside of lectures such as being part of the Public Relations Laboratory Assistant at Fikom Unpad and staff of the External Relations division in the Media Production Management Student Association (Hima MPM) organization. In his activity in HIMA MPM, Azqi managed to create an art exhibition with the title “Tunjuk Rasa: Pusparagam” which deals with colors and human emotions. His journey in studying in the Media Production Management study program made him learn a lot to be able to develop soft skills such as collaboration and teamwork in himself and hone his creativity through quality works that he creates in every assignment or project given.

Through his passion for video editing and content development, Azqi can not only choose to study what he loves. It also allows him to interact and work with someone on the other side of the world that he idolizes. It all started in the pandemic era, when TikTok social media was widely used to unwind the ‘stay at home’ period. At that time, Azqi was interested in one of TikTok’s content creators, @antonychenn, because of his creative and funny content. Antony is a multi-platform content creator from Massachusetts, United States who often shares various skits and features popular videos about anime. At that time, Azqi often filled his spare time by watching viral movies, including the anime “Attack on Titan” which was hype during the pandemic. With his skitsthat also discuss “Attack on Titan” and a face that is also similar to ‘Levi’ one of the main characters, Azqi has become one of Antony’s followers and fans .

As a fan, Azqi often follows Antony’s activities as a content creator, including being a viewer of Antony’s live streaming video games via the Twitch platform. Through the live streaming , Azqi found many funny moments. With the motivation of wanting to make it funnier, he finally compiled the funny moments into a 30-second video which he then shared through Antony’s server on the Discord platform. Instead of being ignored, who would have thought that Azqi’s ‘shenanigans’ as a fan managed to catch the idol’s attention until Antony contacted him directly and stated that he liked Azqi’s video editing style. Not only that, Azqi was also given a promising offer to become his YouTube editor. And yes, without fail, to this day Azqi has not only managed to become a fan of his idol. But managed to get involved in his idol’s content journey by becoming an editor since his idol only had 18 thousand subcribers to having 1.58 million subcribers on his YouTube account today. This opportunity also opened the door to his fortune by starting a career as a freelancer video editor for many clients. (ZS)
