
Epicentrum 2022 and Students’ Efforts to Realize Climate Problem Solving
Padjadjaran University’s Faculty of Communication Studies has held a series of Epicentrum 2022 main events on May 17-20, 2022. This year, Epicentrum’s theme was “Earthmergency Call: Action Against Climate Disruption”. It is hoped that the Epicentrum 2022 activity can become a forum for students to carry out their role as agents of change in efforts to solve the global climate crisis through a communication perspective. This year, Epicentrum is open to both national and international participants.
The Epicentrum 2022 Opening Ceremony was held on May 17, 2022 through the Epicentrum Fikom Unpad YouTube channel. The event was also enlivened by a contemporary dance performance from Yayasan Seni Pertunjukan Etam, a Wayang Golek performance from Ki Dalang Khanha, and a singing performance by Aurelia Azzahra. Epicentrum 2022 activities continued with talk shows from each competition and final presentation by the finalists held on May 17-18, 2022. The seven competitions in Epicentrum 2022 are Research Mindedness, The 10th Padjadjaran Public Relations Fair, Liblicious, Commoviecator, Ideation, Mediation, and Journalism Parade.
Furthermore, the Epicentrum 2022 series of activities closed with the Closing Ceremony on May 20, 2022. This activity was filled with awarding night or announcement of winners from each competition at Epicentrum 2022. In addition, this activity was also enlivened by performances from Lises Unpad, Callista Rahmadhani, and Akbar Eka Putra. This year, Epicentrum was attended by more than 95 participants from 22 universities across Asia.
The Epicentrum 2022 series of activities cannot run well without the hard work of the entire committee and cooperation with sponsors, namely PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara), Pakalolo Boots, PT Petrokimia Gresik, Somethinc, Ajaib, Waroeng SS, and By.U.. Epicentrum 2022 also established partnerships with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia, the ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE), and CNN Indonesia. In addition, Epicentrum worked with media partners such as TRANS 7, NET TV, Detik.com, Pikiran Rakyat, Hipwee, International Office Unpad, Radio Citra Megaswara Bogor, AIESEC in Bandung, AIESEC in Unpad, OpportuNest, and many more.
