Fikom Unpad’s Action Development Communication Unit (Kombinasi) held a Blood Donation Event

The Action Development Communication Unit (Kombinasi) of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University launched the Synergy of Kindness from a Drop of Blood (SIMPONI) movement which is a blood donation activity. This activity was organized to commemorate National Press Day and the 13th Lustrum Unpad.

Dean of Fikom Unpad Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, M.Si in his speech explained that this blood donation activity is a real humanitarian action and aims to help the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in fulfilling blood availability. This activity is also organized to provide opportunities for students to become organizers and interact with their friends.

Dr. Herlina Agustin, M.T. who is the Chief Executive of this activity explained that the essence of this blood donation activity is to further increase awareness of people with disabilities. With this event, people can see that disability doesn’t mean they can’t, they are capable and we just have to give them access.

On the first day of the blood drive, the Combination Unit and PMI managed to get 56 donors out of 108 registrants. Donors came from lecturers, education staff, Padjadjaran University students and the general public. Of the 56 donors, 12 were people with disabilities. The event was held at 08.30 WIB until 11.30 WIB at Fikom Unpad Jatinangor Campus. This blood donation activity will be held for three days until Thursday, February 17, 2022. (RT)
