Meet Alifia Sabila Putri: Outstanding Student of Fikom Unpad 2023
Alifia Sabila Putri, or familiarly called Fia, is a passionate and dedicated student in her studies at the Public Relations program, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. In addition to achieving the achievement as an Outstanding Student (Mawapres), Fia also shows a strong commitment to her education. The Mawapres selection stage is not an easy matter, but Fia managed to go through it with courage. Armed with her achievements in the academic and non-academic fields, she successfully passed the selection stage at the Study Program level and was ready to show her charm at the Faculty level. Fia prepared all the necessary requirements with enthusiasm. Starting from Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing achievements to Scientific Work with interesting topics. Departing from the experience of being active in Student Organizations (Ormawa), Fia wrote a Scientific Paper on Ormawa as a means to encourage women’s participation in parliament. This topic captivated Fia because of her great interest in women’s issues and their participation in politics. Through this Scientific Paper, she hopes to reveal the important role of Ormawa in providing opportunities for women to play an active role in politics. The selection of Mawapres Fikom Unpad was fierce. Fia and other participants were asked to present their Scientific Work using English. They also faced an interview stage that went deeper into their achievements and scientific work. From all stages of the Mawapres selection, the most challenging and exciting moment for Fia was when she presented her Scientific Work. She felt happy because she was given the opportunity to share her thoughts and get acquainted with Outstanding Students from various Study Programs and Faculties. When her name was announced as the Outstanding Student of Fikom Unpad, Fia’s feelings were mixed. The student who is currently in his 6th semester felt both happy and surprised because he did not expect to achieve this achievement. At the same time, Fia also felt tense because the next day she had to immediately continue the selection stage at the university level. For Fia, managing time and prioritizing between academic and non-academic activities is something that should not be ignored. Fia organizes her priorities by compiling a list of tasks that must be completed using a scale of importance, with the main focus on academics. According to her, not procrastinating and always making sure to make progress every day is the key to success, both in academic and non-academic matters. The Mawapres selection that has been passed gives a deep impression to Fia. She considers this process as an experience that pushes her beyond her limits. Along the way, Fia learned to manage time and strategies in order to complete tasks between very busy activities. Although it was tough, after going through it, Fia felt confident that she could overcome the challenges that came her way. Fia also feels lucky because she can achieve the achievement of becoming Mawapres of Fikom Unpad together with Farley Rafa Aurellia, as well as getting extraordinary support from her classmates.
“For students who are interested in becoming Mawapres, I have a few tips: First, look for information about Mawapres assessment indicators and planning academic and non-academic activities that can give you maximum value. Then, also look for issues according to your interests, related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and try to join related movements . Even better if you can start a new social movement! In addition, find mentors from among lecturers and classmates who can help you in compiling Scientific Works. Don’t forget to prepare yourself by learning English, improving your public speaking skills, knowing more about your environment at Fikom and Unpad, and taking advantage of the support and privileges you get during the Mawapres selection process. Finally, and most importantly, don’t forget to have fun!” Fia’s message. Through Alifia Sabila Putri’s struggle, we know that with perseverance, experience, and good priority management, anyone can achieve achievements.
