
Healthy Dating Without Violence in the Fikom x Samahita Bandung Live Instagram Talkshow
Jatinangor, March 21, 2021. After conducting a survey related to dating violence against students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University. The Unpad Fikom Public Relations Laboratory Team held a sharing session with the theme “LOVE IS NOT ABUSE” on Friday, November 27, 2020. This event is in the form of a talk show which is broadcast live through Fikom Unpad social media accounts using the live Instagram feature. This talkshow was moderated by Isna Ainul Fatah and attended by resource person An Nisaa Yovani as Founder and CEO of Samahita Bandung. This Sharing Session aims to educate Fikom Unpad students about dating violence.

Some forms of Dating Violence (KDP) are: physical violence, psychological violence, possessiveness, verbal abuse, stalking, controlling partner rights, isolating partners, sexual violence, accusing without reason, and extortion. Based on the results of a survey conducted on 2016-2020 Fikom students, 78.8% of respondents said they had never experienced KDP, while 12.5% said they had or are currently experiencing Dating Violence (KDP). The forms of KDP that are often experienced by Fikom students include: accusations without reason, belittling and mocking, emotional violence, stalking, and distancing from family and relatives. The data obtained showed that 54.5% of respondents stated that they were aware of their closest person experiencing Dating Violence. With the percentage that has been obtained, only 42.9% of respondents are aware of the punishment for perpetrators of KDP.

Several articles that can ensnare the perpetrators are Law No 2008 concerning pornography, ordinary persecution (article 351 of the Criminal Code), light persecution (article 352 of the Criminal Code), and severe persecution (article 354 of the Criminal Code). Steps that can be taken if you become a victim of KDP include: digging up information about KDP, recognizing signs of KDP, believing that KDP has a cause, being careful with the seduction of a partner, daring to refuse, telling friends and family, making a self-rescue plan, collecting evidence of KDP, seek help, and report KDP to the police unit for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA).

Several other parties who can be contacted to request KDP assistance include: Komnas Perempuan, LBH APIK Jakarta, Pulih Foundation, and Samahita. The sharing session “LOVE IS NOT ABUSE” discusses in detail the stages that occur in dating violence. Starting from the stages of the emergence of violence to the types of violence that have the potential to appear in the courtship process itself. This sharing session lasted for 42 minutes 25 seconds. At the end of the talk show series , An Nisaa Yovani gave a message to Fikomers to seek help if they are caught in a violent romantic relationship or courtship . An Nisaa Yovani gave a message to Fikomers who feel they are witnesses of violence in romantic relationships so that they can help the person concerned, and not to remain silent when witnessing violence in romantic relationships.
